September 4, 1942 – February 21, 2026

Anita Louise Goetsch, 83, of Beaverton, Oregon, was set free on February 21, 2026, at 1:35 a.m. Funeral arrangements are with Fullerton-Hage Funeral Home.

Per her wishes, she will be cremated, and following a private memorial service with family and friends, she will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City, Iowa.

Anita Louise (Lence) Goetsch was born in Osage, Iowa, on September 4, 1942, to Bernadine Wagner and Robert Lence and raised in Charles City, Iowa. She was a mother to her two beloved sons, Scott and Sean, who loved and adored her.

Through her 83 years, Anita touched the hearts of everyone she met. She wrapped everyone in love and selflessness. Anita was always the last to sit down and the last to eat. She was the first to offer her coat, even when she was cold, her food, even when she was hungry, and her comfort, even on her hardest days, whether to a close friend, family member, or a stranger.

Anita spent her days donating her time, money, and energy to those around her in need. She spent years as a hospice volunteer providing loving support for those in their very last moments; something that was returned to her in her final moments as well. Having very few resources did nothing to stop her from donating what little she had to worthy causes close to her heart for those who were hungry or in need of basic support. She gave of her whole self.

Her legacy lives on in the brighter days, more smiles, and more love she left in every heart.

Anita is survived by her son, Sean, and daughter-in-law, Britt; four grandchildren: Michael, Cody, Olivia, and Tyler; sisters, Kathy and Diane; several nieces and nephews; and many loving extended family members and friends.

She was reunited in heaven with her firstborn son, Scott, and her sister, Betty, who cherished her.

As one of her favorites, Willie Nelson sang, she was truly an “Angel Flying Too Close.
To The Ground.”

Anita never wanted to say goodbye, as it struck her as too permanent; she would always say, “Bye for now.”

Her family will love and miss her forever… “Bye for now.”
