David (Dave) Arland Roberts, 60, of Algona, Iowa, passed away on January 14, 2026, surrounded by family.
Dave was born on July 17, 1965 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Betty and Larry Roberts. He graduated Humboldt High School where he enjoyed running track and playing football.
Dave spent 40 years of his career working at various Hy-Vee stores in Iowa and Nebraska. He took pride in his work, loved the people he worked with and helped train many employees for the next level. Family trips often included stops to other Hy-Vee stores to see what they were doing. Dave never met a stranger and was always willing to help others in any way he could. He enjoyed fishing and going on back road cruises. Friends and family will remember him for his sense of humor and dependability. By his family, he was known for his surprise visits always bearing gifts, gum or treats for the grandkids. One of his greatest joys in life was spending time with his grandkids and would talk about them to anyone who would listen.
Left to cherish Dave’s memory are his children: Amber (Reece) Gilder of Algona, IA and Nathan Roberts of Springfield, MO; parents: Larry and Betty Roberts of Walnut, IA; Granddaughters: Jada and Addie; Sister: Lorie (Steve) Daly of Port Orange, FL, nephew: Ian and many friends and family members.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 31st, 2026 at the Algona Senior Center at 12 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
