Deer strikes Mason City couple on motorcycle, causing injury

RURAL CERRO GORDO COUNTY – A deer struck a Mason City couple on a motorcycle, causing an injury.

On May 27, 2022 at 9:00 PM, 44-year-old David J Fumier and 55-year-old Cassandra L. Fumier of Mason City were traveling southbound on US Highway 65 from 340th Street in Cerro Gordo County when a deer entered the roadway from the west ditch, striking the 2020 Indian Chieftain Dark Horse motorcycle they were on. The motorcycle did receive minor damage and David Fumier also received minor leg pain as a result of the deer striking the motorcycle. Cassandra was not injured. Medical attention was sought by David on his own for the leg pain.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Manly Police Department.
