MASON CITY – The NIACC women’s basketball team is ranked 12th in the latest NJCAA Division II poll released Monday.
NIACC (9-1 overall, 3-1 in the ICCAC) split a pair of contests last week. The Trojans suffered their first loss of the season with a 85-68 loss to No. 2 Kirkwood on Dec. 3 and they topped Iowa Western 66-58 on Dec. 6.
The Trojans dropped a spot in this week’s poll as they were ranked No. 11 in the Dec. 1 poll.
A total of four ICCAC are ranked in this week’s poll. Kirkwood (7-0, 3-0) is No. 2, NIACC (9-1, 3-1) is No. 12, DMACC (11-0, 3-0) is No. 14 and Iowa Lakes (7-3, 3-0) entered the poll this week at No. 25.
Johnson County CC remained the No. 1 team in the NJCAA Division II women’s poll and Illinois Central is No. 3.
NIACC returns to action with a pair of home games this week. The Trojans face Ellsworth (6-4, 2-2) at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Iowa Lakes at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
