DES MOINES – An Iowa police officer has been arrested after picking up a teen this month and taking her to his house to commit lewd and dangerous acts.
On November 12, 2021, at the request of the Pleasantville Police Department, Division of Criminal Investigation agents began a criminal investigation into allegations of sexual contact between a then-police officer with the Pleasantville Police Department and a 15-year-old juvenile.
On November 15, members of the Department of Public Safety arrested Alec Veatch, 24, at his Norwalk, Iowa home. Veatch was charged with one count each of Sexual Abuse in the Third Degree, Lascivious Acts with a Minor, and Enticing a Minor.
Veatch was transported to the Jasper County Jail on a $17,000 bond. He has since posted bond and has been released.

The complaint alleges that on the 8th of November, 2021, Alec Veatch, a 24 year old adult, drove from Norwalk, Iowa to Pleasantville, Iowa to meet with a 15 year old minor. Alex Veatch picked up the minor outside of her home and transported the minor to his residence in Norwalk without the consent of the minor’s parents. While at Veatch’s residence Veatch committed sexual abuse on the minor. Veatch kissed, groped, and fondled the minor while inside his residence. Veatch provided the minor alcohol causing the minor to become mentally incapacitated. Alex Veatch had the minor partially disrobe for the purpose of sexual gratification. While the minor was partially disrobed Veatch inflicted pain upon the minor by cutting the minor’s thigh. Alex Veatch is 4 or more years older that the child. Additionally Alec Veatch is a Police Officer for the city of Pleasantville and used that authority over the minor child to further the sexual abuse.
