In 1967, while working at Chess’ Drive-In in Killeen, Texas, Virginia met Jake Steil, who was stationed at Fort Hood at the time. Shortly after this, the couple moved back to Jake’s hometown of Livermore, where they were united in marriage on December 28th, 1968.

The couple made their home in the Livermore area, welcoming three children along the way – Jerry, Sheri, and Wendy. Throughout her life, Virginia worked various jobs, from being a home daycare provider to later spending many years at Chantland Co. where she remained until her retirement.

Virginia had a smile and a fiery personality that could light up any room she was in. She enjoyed the simple things in life from camping with her husband, Jake, to baking with her grandchildren. In her later years, she enjoyed riding around Livermore on her golf cart with her dog, Zoe.

She is survived by her children Jerry (Tracy) Steil of LuVerne, Sheri (Jon) Hotovec of Humboldt, Wendy (Bob) Nilles of Gilmore City; 10 grandchildren Cody, Austin, and Brandon (Aubrey Filter) Steil, Morgan (Garhett Allen), Breanna and Alexis Hotovec, Kallie (Collin) Miller, Kaysie (Landon Halverson), Kinley and Jack Nilles, 2 great-grandchildren, Blakely Steil and Kyler Miller, sisters Anita (Pete) Rodriguez of Buckholtz, TX, Olivia Robinson of Anaheim, CA, Sylvia Parker of Round Rock, TX, Jane (Joe) Velez of Copperas Cove, TX, and brother Fred (Dorothy) Mendoza of Temple, TX; sister-in-law Judy (Dean) Weier, her cherished dog Zoe and many nieces and nephews.
