MASON CITY – This specimen was nabbed in a Waterloo jail cell on a warrant out of Mason City, after police here claim she became enraged and posted lewd photos of her alleged victim to social media.
On July 26, 2025, a Mason City resident reported a known subject was posting photos or videos of the reporting party in various stages of undress and engaged in a sex act. The suspect, 26-year-old Ashley Lenee Mickey (pictured at top), unknown address, had no permission to post this data. It is also suspected by police that Mickey posted this data online after she may have become upset with the complainant.
“Our officer tried to contact Mickey but was unable to reach her. Our officer applied for an arrest warrant on Sept 8, 2025. The warrant alleges Mickey committed first-degree harassment (sexting). This is an aggravated misdemeanor,” a Mason City police spokesman told NIT.
On November 21, 2025, Mickey was located in the Blackhawk County jail, where she was being held on a drug possession charge brought by Waterloo police. A Cerro Gordo county deputy picked up Mickey from the Blackhawk County jail and brought her to the Cerro Gordo county jail to face justice. She soon posted bond and was released from jail as she awaits future court proceedings.
