June 8, 1961 ~ October 18, 2025 (age 64)

Barbara Ann Noonan, the adopted daughter of James and Alpha (Underberg) Noonan was born on June 8, 1961. She was raised and educated in Eagle Grove, graduating from Eagle Grove High School in 1979. She then attended ICCC, DMACC and NIACC.

Barb held various jobs as a medical assistant, medical transcriptionist, business owner of Piece By Piece Consignment Store and a National Recruiter for Aspen Exteriors Storm Damage.

Barb was united in marriage to Jason Rechkemmer and from that union, a son Jesse was adopted. The couple later divorced. Barb was a very proud mother of her son Jesse, who joined the Army right out of high school, serving his country for four years. She knew her purpose in life was to be Jesse’s mom, both of them being adopted, it was just meant to be!

Barb was an avid animal lover, adopting many cats from animal shelters and helping strays with food sources. She helped in trap/release/neuter/spay programs. Another important passion of Barbs was “Paying it Forward” – always looking to help someone in need.

Barb loved Lake Life, having lived at Lake Cornelia for the last few decades and being surrounded by nature. Her favorite holiday was July 4th – loving to entertain cousins and friends at the lake – boating, campers in her yard, bonfires, potlucks (with way too much food), boat parades, bingo in the yard and painting Happy Rocks to hide in the parks.

Barb passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the age of 64 years. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, James and Alpha.

Survivors include her son, Jesse Rechkemmer, Lake Cornelia; three beloved cats, Lucy, Lux and Biker; brother, Mike Noonan (Cheryl), Willmar, MN; niece, Angela Noonan Sondrol (Jeremy), Olivia, MN; great nephews, Ryan and Nicholas Sondrol; biological half brothers and sisters (she met through the years), Brian Kieler, Vicky Ballagh (Karl), both of Hazel Green, WI, Sandy Morton (Norm), Mesa, AZ, Diana Morton, St. Paul, MN, Terry Morton, Dubuque and Kate Knepper (Josh), Peosta; special cousins, Sandy Cherry and Trish Underberg; very special friends, Monica Forbes, Teresa Sadler and Stacey Jorgensen – who all went above and beyond giving her much needed support and comfort along with getting her to the many Rochester appointments and many other loving cousins and friends – praying the entire time!

Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 24, 11:00 am at Foust Funeral Home, with visitation from 10:00 am until service time. A Celebration of Barb’s Life to immediately follow at Pop’s Pizza & Pub – 316 West Broadway, Eagle Grove. Please wear bright colors in memory of Barb!!
