Richard “Dick” Oulman, 92 of Forest City, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025 at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City.
A funeral service will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church in Thompson, Iowa, on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Zech Anderson officiating.
Visitation will take place prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church on Wednesday.
Burial will follow at Center Lutheran Cemetery in Leland, IA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Bethany Lutheran Church in Thompson, IA in memory of Dick Oulman.
Richard L. Oulman was born on May 15, 1933 to Russell and Andrina (Hylland) Oulman. He graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1952. He married his first wife in 1954 which ended in a divorce a few years later. That marriage resulted in two children; Beverly and Randy.
He later married the love of his life, Charlotte in 1988 and they were married for over 36 years until her passing in 2023.
Dick became a farmer which he very much enjoyed until retirement. He also enjoyed hunting, trapping, fishing, and traveling. He made many winter trips to Mexico plus trips to Alaska and even to Cuba right after Castro took over.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Beverly Schultz of Johnston, IA and Randy Lee Oulman of Owatonna, MN; step-sons, David Thorland and Stephen (Amy) Thorland of Thompson; grandchildren, Jason (Jackie) Carolus, Laurie (Brian) Atkins, Dawn (Matt) Schellinger; step-grandchildren, Tonnes (Katie) Thorland and Tristan (Tabitha) Thorland; ten great grandchildren; one step-great-granddaughter, Emma Thorland; brothers, Ray (Marlene) Oulman and Jim (Sharon) Oulman; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Charlotte in 2023; son-in-law, David Schultz; step-daughter-in-law, Theresa Thorland and step-great-grandson, Henry Thorland.
