CHARLES CITY – Police arrested a Charles City woman for skipping court.
On May 23 at about 1:00 PM, a Charles City police officer arrested Crystal Vanbrocklin, age 37 in the South Cedar Terrace complex for failure to appear in court. She was booked into jail and released on her own recognizance pending a new court date that was not specified.
Vanbrocklin had initially pled guilty to habitually driving while barred, but a plea changee hearing was scheduled for April 29th, which she did not show up for. She still owes well over $400 in fines and court fees from her last guilty plea to driving while barred, in 2013.
