WINNEBAGO COUNTY – A timber bridge in Winnebago county built in 1949 is being removed by county crews in preparation for a new corrugated metal culvert.

The bridge is located on 120th Avenue between 460th Street and 470th Street northeast of Thompson, and has been posted with weight limits since 2000 due to deterioration of the foundation piles. The new structure will be a buried 7-foot diameter metal culvert. This road will be fully closed during construction and is expected to take about two weeks.

The project is estimated to cost about $54,000.
