OBIT: Roger D. Kenyon

Roger D. Kenyon, 79, of Forest City, IA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City, with his wife by his side. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at United Methodist Church.

Roger D. Kenyon, 79, of Forest City, IA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City, with his wife by his side.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at United Methodist Church, 305 South Clark Street, Forest City, with Pastor Les Green officiating.

Visitation will be 4:00 – 6:00 P.M., Monday, April 21, 2025 at Schott Funeral Home, 505 North Clark St., Forest City, IA.

Burial will take place in Henry Cemetery in rural Canton, MN.

Roger was born on November 22, 1945 in Lanesboro, Minnesota to parents Orley and Alvina (Paulson) Kenyon. He attended school in Canton, MN and graduated with the class of 1963. He left the day after graduation and served in the United States Air Force for 8 years, which included a year in Thailand.

Roger married Judy Hover on June 18, 1966 at Mabel Methodist Church in Mabel, MN and to this union, two sons were born, Ed and Rick.

Roger was employed at Winnebago Industries for 33 years, retiring in 2004. He enjoyed camping and hiking with his wife after retiring, making a couple trips out west in the camper. He also enjoyed music and watching Lawrence Welk on Saturday nights!

He was a member of the Forest City United Methodist Church and the American Legion.

Roger will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife Judy; his sons, Ed Kenyon of Boulder, CO and Rick (Francine) Kenyon of Forest City; his siblings, Gerald (Judy) Kenyon of Great Bend, KS, Kathy Spores of Manly, IA, Neil (Sue) Kenyon of Lanesboro, MN, Mike (Cheryl) Kenyon of Forest City, and Karen Sandry of Cresco, IA; along with many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Orley and Alvina Kenyon; his brother, Richard Kenyon; his brothers-in-law, Sheldon Spores and Bill Sandry; sister in law, Gloria Kenyon; and a nephew, Curtis Kenyon.
