
On October 3, 2024, Bremer county deputies located a Chevrolet Malibu reported stolen from Cedar Falls at a property in the 1800 block of Dakota Avenue.
While leaving the property they recognized a White Chevrolet Sonic, reported stolen from Stuart, IA., being driven on Dakota. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, along with a white Grand Prix that was traveling with it. A pursuit ensued that ended with the Sonic crashing into a ditch a catching fire. The female, later identified as Jessie Jones, 41 of Allison, fled the scene. She was located nearby and taken into custody after an hours long search, utilizing a Bremer County Emergency Management drone.
The Grand Prix was located at an abandoned property and was confirmed stolen from Cedar Falls shortly after Jones was taken into custody.
Dillon Chase, age 31 of Shell Rock, was identified as the driver of the Grand Prix. An investigation showed Chase was responsible for the theft of a 2011 Impala from a residence in the 1300 block of C33 the same night of the pursuit.
On October 6, 2024, Jones and Chase were involved in a pursuit with the Impala in Marion county. Jones was arrested after crashing into a ditch, police say.
Chase escaped custody and stole a pickup, only to park the pickup and steal a Pontiac Bonneville.
On October 8, 2024, Bremer county deputies took Chase into custody at a house in the 2000 block of 260th Street. The stolen Bonneville was also recovered from the same address. Chase and Jones were also responsible for the theft of a 2005 GMC pickup from Tripoli on September 17, 2024.
Jones is currently being held in the Marion County Jail on the following charges:
– Vehicle theft (D felony)
– Unauthorized use of a credit card (aggravated misdemeanor)
– Ongoing criminal conduct (B Felony)
Chase is being held in the Bremer County Jail on a $52,000 bond on the following charges:
– Vehicle theft (D felony)
– Unauthorized use of a credit card (aggravated misdemeanor)
– Ongoing criminal conduct (B Felony)
– 2 counts of burglary to a vehicle
– Possession of ammunition as a felon

Bremer county deputies were assisted by Waverly Fire, Iowa State Patrol, Janesville Police Department, Denver Police Department, and Bremer County Dispatch.
