FORT DODGE – An elderly woman crossing a street in Fort Dodge was struck by a woman driver and had to be airlifted to a Des Moines hospital.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the incident took place on Friday, October 18, 2024. At 7:53 AM that morning, at the intersection of 6th Avenue N and N 29th Street in Fort Dodge, 36-year-old Amanda Lawler of Fort Dodge
