SWEA CITY – Police raided a house in this small NorthernIowa town after reports of a burglary and thefts, nabbing one suspect.

On August 24, 2024, at about 2:20 PM, the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary at 308 Park Ave West in Swea City. After an investigation, deputies applied for a search warrant at a different residence in Swea City. The reported stolen property was located, as well as other previously reported stolen property. As a result of the investigation and search warrant, Kossuth County Deputies arrested 54-year-old Jaime Concepcion Esparza of Swea City on the following charges:

• Theft in 2nd Degree Class D Felony

• Burglary 2nd Degree Class C Felony

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Bancroft Police Department during the search warrant. Esparza is being held in the Kossuth County Jail, pending an upcoming hearing.
