
MASON CITY – Award winners have been named in the 44th Annual Cerro Gordo Photo Show at the Charles H. MacNider Art Museum. Thirty-seven entered photographs by sixteen artists were chosen for the exhibition by a panel of judges. Judges for this year’s competition were 43rd Annual Cerro Gordo Photo Show Best in Show award winner, Alanna Davison, and Lindsay Thompson, MacNider Art Museum Development Assistant.
The Best in Show award of $150 was given to Mary Varnum of Plymouth for the photograph entitled Titonka! Dennis Nettifee of Clear Lake received the second award of $100 for the digital photograph entitled Wacapi Warrior. The third award of $50 went to Lisa Grouette of Mason City for the black and white photograph, Barn Swallow by the Window.
Honorable Mentions were awarded to Ann Beasley of Mason City for the digital photograph, Peek-a-Boo and Daniel Pennington of Mason City the digital photograph, Northern Lights Sion Lutheran Church.
The 44th Annual Cerro Gordo Photo Show will be on display through Saturday, October 26, and is sponsored by the Safford and Lena Lock Photo Endowment Fund. Admission to the Charles H.
