One arrested, one hospitalized after stabbing in Decorah

DECORAH – Police and ambulance were called to a report of a man down who had been stabbed in Decorah, leading to a felony arrest.

Captain Mandy Grath of the Decorah police department reports that on July 31, around 7:26 pm, Officers were dispatched to 607 South Mill Street for a male who was reported to have been stabbed. The male was transported by ambulance to Winn Med. Officers secured the scene and began investigating this incident. Alfredo Morales Hernandez, age 37 from Decorah was arrested and charged with Willful Injury resulting in Serious Injury, felony.

This incident remains under investigation and no further details will be released at this time, police said.

The Decorah Police Department was assisted by the Winneshiek County Sherriff*s Office and the Winneshiek County Attorney’s Office.
