MAYNARD, IOWA – A Northern Iowa man awaiting trial on drug charges has been arrested after an assault incident.
On July 22, 2024, at approximately 4:57 PM, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an assault in Maynard. Upon investigation, 25-year-old Joeseph Glenn Kane of Maynard was arrested and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault—First Offense. Kane was transported to the Fayette County Jail and held until going before a magistrate. Kane was allowed to post $30 towards a $300 bond and was released. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol.
Kane was accused of domestic abuse assault in 2021 in Fayette county but the charge was dismissed. He is currently awaiting a September 25, 2024 trial in Fayette county on drug charges brought in June. Two days prior to his assault arrest, on July 20, Kane was charged with fresh drug possession charges and awaits an August 6 preliminary hearing.
