DECORAH – A Northern Iowa car salesman with a dubious criminal history is behind bars today, accused of sexual exploitation of a minor.
Kelly Bachelder, age 47 of Decorah, was arrested on May 10, 2024, by Decorah police for sexual exploitation of a minor. This crime is a class D felony, punishable by up to five years in prison and a fines up to $10,000. Police say the investigation into the alleged crime began in 2022. That year, Bachelder was accused to to counts of stalking and later pled guilty, receiving a suspended prison sentence, probation, and fines, fees and costs totaling $5,272.00.
According to reports, Bachelder allegedly used hidden cameras to secretly record a young female changing clothes and kept the videos on a computer, which other people had watched.
A LinkedIn account claims Kelly Bachelder (pictured at top) is a president at Decorah Chevrolet Cadillac Inc., but their staff page in the dealership’s website does not list him.
