William “Bill” Steven Higgins, the son of Carl and Bonnie (Stapleton) Higgins, was born on August 2, 1949, in Estherville, Iowa. He died Sunday, March 10, 2024, at the Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville at the age of 74 years.
Bill graduated from Estherville High School in 1967 before working construction in the Northwest Iowa area.
He married Susan Tindall on April 7, 1969 and to this union, four children were born, Brad, Sandra, Steven and Julie.
In his younger years, Bill enjoyed bowling and drag racing. More recently, he spent his free time fishing, hunting, and watching NASCAR
Bill is survived by his wife, Susan (Tindall) Higgins; his children, Brad (Michelle) Higgins, Sandra (Stacey) Jones, Steven (Amanda) Higgins, and Julie Higgins; grandchildren, Kelvin, Maxx, Titan, and Kaitlyn; two great-grandchildren, Nash and Camdin; his siblings, Mary Thelen, Carla (Mike) Long, Tisha Scott, Shelley (Mark) Harsin, Jerry (Linda) Higgins, and Glenn (Pat) Higgins; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Bonnie (Stapleton) Higgins, four sisters and five brothers.
