MASON CITY – Today, Carl Ginapp announced his candidacy for the District Three Cerro Gordo County Supervisor Seat. Ginapp, a Republican, will be a first time candidate for this position.

Carl was born and raised in Mason City, graduating from Mason City High School and North Iowa Area Community College. He lives on an acreage northeast of Mason City with his wife of 30 years, Marcia Ginapp. Carl has three daughters he raised on the acreage, who have all graduated from college, and are starting their adult lives across the country.

Carl (pictured at top) currently works for the Mason City Fire Department, and has been with the department for 27 years. He is eligible for retirement later this year. As an adjunct instructor at NIACC, he teaches emergency medical technician classes in the evenings. He is currently a board member of the Iowa Emergency Medical Services Association.

On his acreage he operated a small livestock operation raising lamb and beef. He served as president of the Iowa Lamb and Wool Production Board. Carl also operated a sawmill and lumber sales.
According to Ginapp, “Public service is more of a calling than a career, and I would like to continue this calling by representing Cerro Gordo County District Three as supervisor. My primary focus would be providing necessary services while being financial responsible. I would be honored to represent the citizens of District Three with honestly, integrity, and fiscal accountability”.

Lori Meacham Ginapp, a Democrat, currently holds this seat.
