Waterloo teen nabbed after armed robbery of convenience store

WATERLOO - A Waterloo teen allegedly entered a convenience store, brandished a gun and fled with cash before cops nabbed him later.

WATERLOO – A Waterloo teen allegedly entered a convenience store, brandished a gun and fled with cash before cops nabbed him later.

On December 18, 2023, at approximately 10:32 PM, Waterloo Patrol Officers were dispatched to the Neighborhood Mart at 2100 Lafayette Street on a silent alarm. Patrol Officers arrived and were advised that a robbery had just occurred. Employees stated a male wearing all black had come into the store brandishing a gun at employees and demanded money. The suspect was given an unknown amount of money and then fled the store. Upon further investigation by Waterloo Patrol Officers, they were able to identify the suspect as 17yrs. old D’Merius Grover (pictured above).

Grover has been charged with first-degree robbery and felon in possession of a firearm.
