College Football: Iowa State defeats TCU, 27-14

AMES - Iowa State defeated TCU, 27-14, in a Big 12 home game Saturday night on MidAmerica Energy Field at Jack Trice Stadium.

AMES – Iowa State defeated TCU, 27-14, in a Big 12 home game Saturday night on MidAmerica Energy Field at Jack Trice Stadium.

Four interceptions led the way for the Cyclone defense.  Rocco Becht finished 16-of-28 passing for 138 yards, threw a touchdown pass and was not intercepted in the game.

Iowa State (3-3, 2-1 Big 12) next faces Cincinnati on Saturday.

*Attendance: 60,535
*Iowa State is 6-9 all-time against TCU, including a 4-3 record at Jack Trice Stadium.
*The Cyclones have won the last four games against TCU at Jack Trice Stadium.
*Matt Campbell is now 49-45 at Iowa State and 84-60 overall as a head coach.
*Campbell is now 34-32 against league opponents, the most league wins by an ISU coach in school history.

*His 1,223 yards passing this season are the fourth-most by a freshman in school history.
*Joins Brock Purdy (16 in 2018) and Bret Meyer (10 in 2004) as the only freshman in school history with double-digit passing touchdowns.
Abu Sama
*His third quarter rushing touchdown of 55 yards was his first career touchdown and longest run of his career.
Eli Sanders
*Finished with career-highs in carries (16) and rushing yards (99).
Jaylin Noel
*Caught a pass in his 25th-straight game, the sixth-longest streak in school history. *Moved into 11th in school history with 130 career receptions.
Brendan Black
*First Cyclone true freshman offensive lineman to start a game since Kelechi Osemele and Scott Haughton in 2008.
J.R. Singleton
*Recorded a sack for the second-straight week, the first two of his career.
Joey Petersen
*Notched a career-high six tackles, including two for a loss. He entered the game with 1.5 career tackles for a loss.
Zachary Lovett
*Recorded a sack for the second-straight week, the first two of his career.

*His first quarter interception was the first of his career.
