ISRAEL – It’s a state of war in the Middle East this morning as Hamas invaded Israel with soldiers and a torrent of missile attacks.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said they are “initiating a large-scale operation to defend Israeli civilians against the combined attack launched against Israel by Hamas this morning. In response to the barrages of rockets launched by Hamas from Gaza at Israel, the IDF is currently striking Hamas targets in Gaza.”
Many reports say that Hamas launched thousands of missiles into Israel this morning and their ground troops are advancing into Israeli neighborhoods. Scores of Israelis have allegedly died in the attacks so far, as Israel attempts to strike back.
The U.S. State Department issued a report this morning, saying, “the United States unequivocally condemns the appalling attacks by Hamas terrorists against Israel, including civilians and civilian communities. There is never any justification for terrorism. We stand in solidarity with the government and people of Israel, and extend our condolences for the Israeli lives lost in these attacks. We will remain in close contact with our Israeli partners. The United States supports Israel’s right to defend itself.”
