OBIT: Renee Hissner

Renee (Moodispaugh) Hissner passed away suddenly on July 10, 2023 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa with her husband Curt Hissner and friend Trisha Miller by her side. In life, Renee had many accomplishments including serving her community as a police offer for 10 years.

Renee (Moodispaugh) Hissner passed away suddenly on July 10, 2023 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa with her husband Curt Hissner and friend Trisha Miller by her side.

She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, aunt, and sister. She is preceded in death by her father, Duane ”Moody” Moodispaugh; her mother, Marie Moodispaugh; and her brother, Michael Moodispaugh. Renee is survived by her loving husband, Curt Hissner; daughter, Sheila Gonzalez; stepdaughters: Kyra Hissner and Kelsey Hissner; her stepson, Dylan Hissner; and her grandsons: Christian and Julien Gonzalez. She also leaves behind her brothers: Cheyenne Moodispaugh (wife Stacy Moodispaugh), Chad Simpson, Matthew Moodispaugh, Brian Moodispaugh (wife Sharon Moodispaugh), Keith Moodispaugh (wife Maureen Moodispaugh), Anthony Moodispaugh (wife Dana Moodispaugh) and Sean Moodispaugh; her sister, Megan Moodispaugh; her nieces: Morgan, Alexis, Zoey and Harper; her nephews: Brody and Charley; and great-nephew, Brady.

In life, Renee had many accomplishments including serving her community as a police offer for 10 years. She also had been a corrections officer, an EMT, a personal trainer. She was currently working customer service for Unggoy Broadband. She enjoyed taking trips with her husband, taking care of her dogs that she loved dearly, and spending time with her grandsons.

She was funny, charismatic, and would light up a room when she walked in. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Celebration of life services will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the ASPCA in honor of Renee as she had a great love for animals.
