Cory Lee Powers, 49, of Garner, IA, passed away June 5, 2023, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA.
November 21, 1973 – June 5, 2023
The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
Cory was born November 21. 1973, in Humboldt, IA; son of James and Patricia (Borkowski) Powers. He attended Garner Hayfield Schools and NIACC. He was a part of the 2A Football Championship during his attendance. It was one of his favorite achievements. Over his lifetime, he worked with Clear Lake Water Tower Paint and Repair, Sadler Electric, and Christensen Farms.
Cory was a fan of the Minnesota Vikings as well as NASCAR. Football really brought out his excitement. Many family members will recall some heated discussion about it.
Cory is survived by his parents; James and Patricia; brothers, Brian and Jeremy Powers; and grandmother, Wanda Powers.
Cory was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Barbara Borkowski; and Jack Powers.
