WHITTEMORE, IOWA – A frightened Northern Iowa resident called 911 Sunday as two men, allegedly intoxicated, may have tried to invade their home, sending multiple law enforcement agencies to the scene.
On June 11, 2023, at about 7:04 PM, the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a resident on Kossuth Street in Whittemore of a man banging on a door and attempting to get into a residence. The caller advised there were two males, possibly intoxicated, and one of them may have entered a residence. The caller also advised that one of the males was bloody and may have a knife in his possession.
Kossuth County Deputies responded to the scene and requested assistance from the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office and the Algona Police Department. Whittemore and Algona EMS was paged to stand by near the location.
Arrested at the scene were:
Lance Peck, age 29, of Whittemore, who was charged with public intoxication, trespass, and burglary in the 3rd degree.
Patrick Prentice, age 31, also of Whittemore, was charged with public intoxication.
Lance Peck was transported to the Kossuth Regional Health Center to be cleared medically before being booked into jail.
The Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the investigation by the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office and the Algona Police Department.
