Two stabbed in Fort Dodge as police search for person of interest

FORT DODGE – Two folks were stabbed in Fort Dodge and police are searching for a person of interest in the crime.

Fort Dodge, Iowa

On Wednesday, March 8th, at approximately 7:37 P.M., the Webster County Telecommunications Center received a call stating that a male was stabbed at 1725 17th St S.W. The caller also advised that they were heading to the hospital by personal vehicle.

Officers responded to Unity Point Trinity Regional Hospital as well as 1725 17th St S.W. Upon officers’ arrival at Unity Point Trinity Regional Hospital, they discovered that two subjects had suffered stab wounds. Officers arrived 1725 17th St S.W. and secured the scene. Investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division were called in to assist with the investigation.

Upon further investigation, it was determined that an altercation had taken place at the residence involving three subjects. As a result of this altercation, two of the subjects suffered stab wounds. Investigators spoke with witnesses and processed the crime scene. The condition of the two victims at the time of this press release was unknown.

At this time investigators are attempting to locate Dayshon L. Hurtt (21) of Fort Dodge for questioning regarding this incident. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Mr. Hurtt are encouraged to contact the Police Department.

The Fort Dodge Police Department was assisted the Webster County Sheriff’s Office, and the Webster County Attorney’s Office.
