CLEAR LAKE – Clear Lake police are seeking a suspect after a convenience store was robbed Sunday morning.

On Sunday, January 23, 2022, the Clear Lake Police Department responded to a robbery incident reported at the Casey’s General Store, 202 US HWY 18 East, around 8:37 am.

Store employees told officers that an unknown male entered the business and demanded money from the clerk. The male then grabbed the cash register and fled on foot from the scene.

No weapons were displayed and no injuries were reported. The suspect remains unidentified at this time, but investigators believe the person left the Clear Lake area and poses no immediate threat to the community.

The incident remains under investigation. If you have any information about this case, please contact Detective Jim O’Keefe at 641-355-4405, or Crime Stoppers of North Central Iowa at 800-383-0088. You may remain anonymous.

Clear Lake officers were assisted by the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol.

  1. Pretty vague description here. A male. But they think ‘he’ left the area. But we do know that he is unknown to the clerks. Now where could an unknown male running with a cash register in his arms go to in these cold temps. As he left the area he was in a vehicle as he fled then. The times are hard. And there going to get lean. It cost too much to live nowadays. Raise the wages across the board by 26% would fix it. This type of brazen crime is happening everywhere. Nationwide. Now they got these things called ghost guns. There everywhere too. And the mutant thing ain’t going anywhere either. Hell on earth.

        1. Ask yourself honestly…are you offended by his language, or offended because you thought the same exact thing and you’re both right?
