OBIT: Stanley Bazis

Stanley John Bazis, was born on October 10, 1952 to Stanley and Constance (Sotirhos) Bazis, Sr in Omaha, Nebraska. He passed away at his home in Estherville, Iowa on January 11, 2021 at the age of 69 years.

Stan graduated from Ralston High School in Omaha, Nebraska, where he excelled in baseball. Following high school became employed at Union Pack as a butcher. On March 18, 1972 he was united in marriage to Debra Heisser at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Omaha. The couple made their home in the Omaha area. He later became employed with HyVee as a butcher. In 2008, he moved to Estherville, Iowa, where he continued to work with HyVee, and retired from there in 2017.

Stan’s love for fishing on Lake Okoboji, prompting their move to Iowa. He also enjoyed bowling. He was a passionate Indianapolis Colts fan!

Stan is survived by his daughter Bridget Buss of Omaha, NE; his grandchildren Alysha Gatzemeyer, Larry Buss, Sr, Josh Lemke, and Brooke Vilcinskas; his great grandchildren Larry John Buss, Jr, Karsen Gatzemeyer and Kegan Gatzemeyer; his sister Sandra Keene; and cousin Rick Wolfe.

Stan is preceded in death by his wife Debra and son Zach Bazis.
