MASON CITY – A Clear Lake man as taken to jail after a drunk driving stop.
A Cerro Gordo county deputy conducted a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle on the evening of January 19, 2018, near 12th Street NW and Madison Avenue in Mason City at 10:48 PM. As a result of the stop and investigation, 19-year-old Austin Mitchel Hasfjord of Clear Lake was arrested for operating while intoxicated, minor consumption, speeding, and failing to yield half of roadway. A passenger in the vehicle was cited for open container of alcohol.
Hasfjord was taken to the county jail and soon released, pending a court date.
