CHARLOTTE, NC – In a brutal display of violence caught on video, an enraged man threw a Mike Tyson style punch into the face of an older fan while arguing in the stands at an NFL game, leading to his arrest in a case getting national attention.
In captured video, 26-year-old Kyle Maraghy is shown arguing with a 62-year-old man at the recent NFL game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte, North Carolina. Allegedly, Maraghy stood for the entire game and refused to sit down when fans behind him asked him to, leading to a heated exchange of words with those who view he was obstructing. Tensions escalated, and Maraghy reared back and blasted an older man seated directly behind him, then quickly ran away with his girlfriend, leaving the man to bleed all over the ground and seats. He made it out of the stadium – but video of the attack quickly circulated on social media.
Local police worked with the NFL’s Panthers to identify, locate and apprehend Maraghy. He has been charged with simple assault. He has previously been charged with assault, according to news reports.
The Panthers released a statement on the incident:
We have reviewed video tape of the incident and have identified the perpetrator. We are working with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department to pursue charges to the fullest extent of the law.
The Carolina Panthers are committed to a fan-friendly and family-friendly stadium experience. The behavior exhibited by the perpetrator is unacceptable and will not be condoned at Bank of America Stadium.

Bank of America stadium where this occurred has a strict no gun policy no matter what permit you may have. They screen just like at an airport and your gun would be confiscated.

When should he have pulled out his weapon? When the guy was standing up? When he called him a jerk? After the guy punched him? How many times should he shoot him? 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8- times? If he happened to hit someone else would the Stand your Ground apply or would he be charged with shooting the others? Collateral damage?? Not a big deal to you but to the people around him, maybe a very large deal.

Young people nowadays tend to show little respect and are prone to violent behaviors and rudeness. Gee, I wonder if it comes from all the years of conditioning the mind to punch ’em or shoot’ em up in video games. And walking, driving, or sitting with that damn smart phone up their ass. Add to that both parents filled with the stress out in the wonderful world of working because of crushing debt so no lengthy supervision can be offered. Poor SOB’s missed the boat and the sad part it’s not their fault. Greed has no shame.

Of course I don’t think calling him a jerk was reason enough to punch him. I hope the punk ass kid gets an extended stay in the county jail or prison. I was responding to the post that said maybe the old man groped the punk’s girlfriend. I read the entire police report about the assault. The kid WAS being a jerk and when he got called on it, he hit the guy.
