McIntosh Woods boat ramp to close after Memorial Day weekend

Clear Lake boater

CLEAR LAKE – The McIntosh Woods State Park boat ramp in Clear Lake will close for renovation immediately after the Memorial Day weekend.

Beginning May 30, the ramp and parking lot will be closed to the public. Renovation of the ramp is expected to take approximately three weeks, weather permitting.

The nearby beach, playground and restrooms will remain open throughout the construction, but must be accessed via a hiking path from campground. The McIntosh shelter will be closed until June 16.

During the renovation, boaters can access the lake at Ventura Access, Clear Lake Seawall or the Ritz access on the south shore.

I’m sure that the DNR knows a lot more about a project like this, and the consequents, then any boat less critic on here.

Obviously you are making quite a large assumption about the DNR and their knowledge. If you have ever had to deal with them on an issue you would retract your comment. I’ve had to talk with them concerning wildlife issues and they actually could care less about the general public. It’s all about them and their agenda. A bunch of idiots with little common sense among all of them!!!!!!

…have to agree on this one! If you are going to do it why not wait till the end of the season…after Labor Day…weather permitting!!!

The DNR uses summer interns for projects like this and they are in school in April and after Labor day.

why revamp it in late apr/may hey I got a idea lets close it during the busy season, and we pay idiots like that to do sh*t like this
