MASON CITY – A local bar was burglarized Friday morning, and one man is being charged in the crime.
Mason City police officers discovered that Tailgaters Bar, located at 627 South Federal Avenue, had been recently broken into at around 5:30 AM Friday morning.
The burglary investigation led to the arrest of Johnny Lee Baugh, age 52 of Mason City, shortly before 9:00 AM.
Baugh was jailed for burglary in the 3rd degree, a class D felony, and held for bond at the Cerro Gordo County Jail.
A search warrant was also executed at Baugh’s residence this morning. This is an ongoing investigation and more charges are possible.
In July, a liquor license suspension notice was served to Tailgaters Bar by police. They continued to serve booze, anyway.
Tailgaters later got their prior suspension lifted and were again allowed to serve alcohol. Further charges were possible, and NIT awaits word from police on if any sanctions were ever implemented.
Why did they have to elaborate about Taigaters?
