MASON CITY – A person was injured in a drunk driving accident Friday evening, police said, and the driver fled the scene.

At about 9:21 PM, Cerro gordo deputies located the offending driver, 72-year-old Gary Grant Anderson of Hanlontown. He probably didn’t even know he hit anyone. Glad the lady isn’t hurt bad.

Hey aint he the Boiler Man at Mercy Medical Center

OMG, Gary. What is going on with you? Please get help before you kill someone.

from what I heard on scanner when ambulance gave patient report to Mercy nurses, none of woman’s injuries were life threatening – bump on head, hip pain, and the usual scrapes & bruising (associated with this kind of atrocity), i can’t imagine she’s having a cake walk in the park… “Accidents” like these ought to be considered attempted manslaughter not hit & run… Dude knew he was drunk when he CHOSE to get behind the wheel of his vehicle- therefore I believe it raises the stakes a bit!!

Exactly, and just think how many of them are on our roads. There is no such thing as personal responsibility any more.
