Cell Only – Verizon Wireless Premium Retailer in West Des Moines

REVIEW: Cell Only – Verizon Wireless Premium Retailer

It was a very pleasant experience to stop into a cell phone store in West Des Moines, Iowa this weekend and receive top-notch service.

Especially compared to what you might receive here in Mason City, if you are a Verizon customer. For example, if you visit the Mason City store located at 4063 4th Street SW, a door greeter checks you in but cannot help or assist you. You might see 2-4 other working giggling, poking each other, and generally milling around, until someone appears out of nowhere to take your case. Then, they will listen to you and at that point, the sales pitch begins. I stopped in that store a couple weeks ago, and a woman working there tried to sell me a lot of stuff I didn’t need that would be very costly. For example, she thought I should buy a “hot spot” internet access point for as much as $20 per month. Riiiiight. I had a very specific need for my cell service, and all the options I was offered were way off. I did all I could to get out of the place with anything left in my wallet.

On the way back from a trip to Omaha this past Friday evening, my son and I stopped at Cell Only – Verizon Wireless Premium Retailer, located at 6925 Mills Civic Pkwy #150 in West Des Moines. First of all, the place is spotless, and right away, I noticed the big screen TV showing the Iowa – Nebraska game. Bingo, I new I was in the right spot. Immediately, an employee – Jose Deleon – approached and asked to help us out. This guy knows his stuff. We needed a new line added to my account. We needed a US Cellular iPhone re-programmed into my account for my use. And, we needed to purchase a brand new iPhone for my son’s use. Plus, we needed to see how much data would be best for us on a monthly basis.

Jose whipped through this effortlessly. He had a wireless iPad rolling along with a monitor. Lots of screens and codes and clicking here and there. All I had to do was sign a couple of times and pick out what I wanted. Boom, we were all set. Plus, I got to watch the end of another Hawkeye victory over the losers out west.

To me, it is definitely worth the trip to a place like this store versus stopping in to a local store where you could get swindled.

So? They are paid to do a job. They agreed (and continue to agree to do their job week to week) for the money they are offered. If that is too much hassle for them, they should seek work in the high paying cellular retail market of West Des Moines.

Good information. All the more reason to drive right on by the MC store and go to a place where the employees are motivated to actually do a decent job. Higher pay = better quality help / customer service / overall experience.

is this opinion or fact? What is the difference in pay? People in the midwest are paid less than either coast. Should they work less than their coastal counterparts or should they have good work ethic or find a different job?
