DAVENPORT – An Eastern Iowa man is dead after h lost control of his SUV this weekend and crashed.
On August 16, 2015 at approximately 10:02 PM, Davenport police officers were dispatched to a single vehicle fatality crash in the 4200 block of Rockingham Road. A Chevy Blazer was traveling east bound on Rockingham Road when it lost control and left the roadway. The vehicle slid a considerable distance before it struck a utility pole, crashed through a fence and came to rest on its roof.
The driver, Michael Holcomb, age 32 of Davenport, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Mr. Holcomb was the only occupant in the vehicle. After a preliminary investigation it is believed that speed was a factor in the crash. This crash remains under investigation by the Davenport Police Department Crash Investigation Unit.
