ROCKWELL – A semi-truck overturned and numerous hogs were killed, authorities said Wednesday.
According to the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, at about 5 AM Wednesday morning, a semi overturned near Mallard Avenue and 140th Street. The semi-truck driver was identified as 30-year-old Jon Gardner of Grand Meadow, Minnesota. Gardner was driving westbound on 140th Street when he attempted to turn north on Mallard Avenue. The maneuver caused the trailer to enter the ditch, which caused the semi and trailer to over-turn. Hogs which were being transported in the trailer were killed in the accident. An exact number was not released, other than saying “numerous”. The road was closed by barricades as the accident scene was cleaned up.
Gardner was cited for failure to maintain control. He was also cited in may in Franklin county for a maximum number of hours of service violation.
Can anyone explain how hogs are “horrifically slaughtered”, as stated below. I’m just wondering how this happens.
@Allen-Just more liberal B.S.
Yummy BACON!!!
The key here is that the state was able to fine him and make some money! Oh it was a ACCIDENT, oh well, $$$$$
I guess its better for the hogs to be killed in the accident other than horrifically being slaughtered the way they are.
