MASON CITY – A Mason City man was stopped early Sunday morning by a State Trooper and charged with drunk driving and drug possession.
At about 1:50 AM on Sunday, March 15 at about 1:50 AM, an Iowa State Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle driven by 20-year-old Cody Gene Bilyeu at the 17000 block of 220th Street. A Cerro Gordo deputy was called in to assist in the investigation during the stop. It was determined that Bilyeu was intoxicated and was in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. A minor passenger was cited for possession of alcohol.
Bilyeu was arrested and taken to the county jail, where he was booked and released pending a court date.
