One injured in two-car accident in Charles City

cited-police-featured1CHARLES CITY – One person was injured and over $10,000 in damage was produced in a two-car accident in Charles City.

The accident occurred on March 6 at about 2:45 PM. Charles City police were called to the intersection of D Street and 6th Avenue. Richard Immel, age 74 of Charles City, was driving a 2007 Chevy Silverado and struck a 2011 Jeep Compass driven by 30-year-old Cortez Bell, also of Charles City.

One person was transported by ambulance from the scene, police said, but did not disclose the name.

Immel was cited for failure to yield the right of way. He pleaded guilty on March 11 to that charge and was ordered to pay $195.00 in fines and court fees. Approximately $11,000 in damage resulted from the crash. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
