MASON CITY – A domestic incident allegedly turned violent early Saturday and a Mason City man was sought by law enforcement before he was arrested in a nearby town.
Mason City police were called to 1420 South Hampshire Avenue after midnight Saturday after an emergency phone call related to a domestic incident at that address. At these scene, officers learned that a subject, 34-year-old Patrick William Ohern, had left the scene. Police alerted Cerro Gordo deputies to help in a search for Ohern. Soon thereafter, Ohern was located by deputies in Plymouth near Main Street and Broad Street and arrested.
Ohern was taken to the county jail and booked on charges of felony burglary, domestic abuse assault involving strangulation and obstruction of emergency communications. He was released later Saturday pending a court date.
