CHARLES CITY – A Charles city woman who received a deferred judgement for stealing from a Mason City business now faces a felony burglary charge in Floyd county.
Victoria Jean Benson, age 18, is now accused of felony second degree burglary in Floyd county. The charge was brought by Charles City police after an incident on December 26. She was arrested and taken to jail on January 16. She will be arraigned on March 3 and has been released from jail.
(NOTE: a charge from Hardin county was listed here in error. That charge has been removed from this story.)
Benson was charged back in June of 2014 with fifth degree theft after police arrested her for stealing from a Mason City business. She was later given a deferred judgement as part of a plea deal and fined and placed on probation. On January 21, she was charged with violating that probation, and an arrest warrant has been issued for her at this time.
Probably going to jail now. They never seem to learn.
