Mason City woman accused of felony theft from mall set for plea deal

MASON CITY – A woman accused of stealing from a store in Southbridge Mall she worked at will accept a plea deal.

Megan Marie Williamson, age 21, has a public defender in a felony theft case. She was arrested when Mason City police were called to the Vanity store in Southbridge Mall on November 25 to investigate an employee theft. Store management had called police to turn in information reference the activities of Williamson. After an investigation, police charged Williamson with second degree theft, a felony.

Williamson and her public defender, Susan Flander, initially entered a not guilty plea on January 5 and a jury trial date was set for March 12. However, a week later, on January 12, a plea hearing was set for February 9. The details of the plea were not yet disclosed.
