MASON CITY – A Mason City woman accused of stealing an expensive Ragbrai bike will stand trial next month, even as new felony charges have come her way.
Heather Leigh Twaddle, who has various alias names such as Heather Leigh Wright, was found to be in possession of a stolen bicycle belonging to an Illinois man that was valued at $1,800, Mason City police said in July. The bike was reported stolen from East Park during the evening of July 23, 2014, as the RAGBRAI festival was in full swing. Twaddle was first interviewed by police on the evening of July 24 regarding the bicycle theft. On July 28, Mason City police formally charged Twaddle with felony second degree theft and she was arrested and booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail, a place she has been before.
Twaddle posted $5,000.00 surety bond and was released from jail. She later pled not guilty. She will now face a jury trial on December 2.
During the course of the alleged theft, Twaddle was out of jail on pre-trial release connected to felony drug charges and bringing drugs into the Cerro Gordo County Jail. Those charges were brought last January, but no court or trial dates have been set.
Additionally, Twaddle now faces felony forgery and identity theft charges brought by Mason City police after incidents that took place in September. She is awaiting a December 30 jury trial.
She is more than a criminal, another low life living in Mason City, drugger that wants to take from others instead of earning a living. Way too many of this kind here in town.
Damn thieves. Look at her crying now that she was caught.
