Son allegedly beats up dad and tries to burglarize his house

MASON CITY – A Mason City man is accused of trying to burglarize his dad’s house, and in the process, inflicting injuries.

Cerro Gordo deputies responded to 17544 Warbler Avenue in Nora Springs on the evening of Thursday, August 7 for a reported burglary in progress. The resident at that home, Kai Kral, age 45, told officers that he was assaulted inside his residence by his son, Kai Kral. The elder Kral was injured and taken by private vehicle to Mercy Medical Center in Mason City.

Later Thursday evening, deptuties located Kai Kral and placed him under arrest. He was charged with 1st degree burglary.

The investigation into this incident is on-going.
