Married Nora Springs man pleads not guilty to seven charges of felony sexual abuse

CHARLES CITY – A married Nora Springs man is facing seven charges of sexual abuse in the third degree.

According to a report from the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, Robbie A. DeMaris, age 39, was charged by Floyd county prosecutors on March 14, 2014 with the crime of felony C sexual abuse in the third degree. A warrant was issued for DeMaris’ arrest on March 17, and he turned himself into police the next day, posted bond and was released from jail.

The alleged abuse was against an adult and took place over a period of months from July 2012 through May of 2013.

At an April 1, 2014 arraignment, Demaris was represented by Mason City attorney Joel Yunek and pled not guilty. No new court date has been set, records show.

DeMaris is married and the owner of R&R Salvage in Nora Springs.
