MASON CITY – A Mason City woman was sentenced to a deferred judgement and probation after she wielded a knife and sent folks ducking for cover.
Mason City police dealt with 20-year-old Sierra Moore on February 12, 2022, after a call that she had a knife, was making threats, and folks were hiding. Police arrived at an address in the 300 block of North Eisenhower Avenue and she was arrested on the following charges:
– INTIMIDATION WITH A DANGEROUS WEAPON – INJURE/PROVOKE FEAR (C FELONY)
– THREAT OF TERRORISM (D FELONY) (later dismissed)
– INTIMIDATION WITH A DANGEROUS WEAPON – INJURE/PROVOKE FEAR (C FELONY) (later dismissed)
– CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 3RD DEGREE (AGGRAVATED MISDEMEANOR)
– INTERFERENCE WITH CORRECTIONS OFFICIAL – ASSAULT (AGGRAVATED MISDEMEANOR)
On October 17, 2022, Moore (pictured at top) was sentenced as part of a plea deal to 5 years of probation in a deferred judgement. A five year prison sentence was suspended and she was ordered to pay $136.50 to Iowa courts.
