MASON CITY – NIACC sophomore Matthew Don was selected as the ICCAC men’s basketball player of the week for his effort in games against Iowa Lakes and Clinton.
Don, a 6-foot-8 forward from London, England, scored 15 points with 15 rebounds and six blocked shots in a 92-79 loss to Iowa Lakes on Feb. 12. He scored 22 points with 11 rebounds and three blocked shots in a 75-67 win over Clinton on Feb. 15.
Don has nine double-doubles this season and 13 in his two-year career with the Trojans.
Don averages 11.8 points per game (16th in ICCAC), 8.4 rebounds per game (2nd in ICCAC) and has 34 blocked shots (2nd in ICCAC). He is also shooting 55.7 percent from the field (8th in ICCAC).
NIACC (19-8 overall, 6-5 in the ICCAC) returns to action Saturday at home against Southwestern (8-16, 1-8) in its final regular season home game. The Trojans wrap up the regular season with road games at Ellsworth (Feb. 26) and at Iowa Central (March 1).
