VOLLEYBALL: Iowa State’s Hudson to transfer; “instrumental” in wins

logo_iowa_state_cyclonesAMES, Iowa – Iowa State setter Jenelle Hudson will transfer to another school, head coach Christy Johnson-Lynch announced Friday.

“In our postseason meetings, Jenelle and I had a discussion about her future in our program,” Johnson-Lynch said. “Over the past few weeks, Jenelle has come to the conclusion she might better reach her athletic and academic goals at another institution. We want to wish Jenelle the very best of luck. She was an important part of our program the past two years and instrumental in some great wins. We wish her nothing but the best.”

Hudson was Iowa State’s starting setter in 27 of 28 matches in 2013. The sophomore ranked second in the Big 12 in assists, averaging 11.06 assists per set. She was also the Big 12’s top defensive setter via averaging 2.68 digs per set. Hudson posted 12 double-doubles this past season. Hudson played in 20 matches as a freshman.

Johnson-Lynch and Iowa State will have no further comment.
