IOWA CITY – Iowa ran away from Northwestern Thursday night at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, using its athleticism and deep bench to wear down the Wildcats and bring home a 93-67 victory.
Aaron White registered his third double-double of the season and the 11th of his career with 18 points and 10 boards. Melsahn Basabe recorded his second double-double of the season and the 14th of his career with 16 points and 10 boards. His 16 points is also a season high.
Iowa lead 41-26 at the half.
For the game, Iowa shot 57% (29-51) from the field and 57% (8-14) from the 3-point range.
Iowa, ranked #20 in the nation, improves to 13-3 overall and 2-1 in the Big Ten. They next face Ohio State in Columbus on Sunday.
